Overview
Knock down of the old Avco Building in Margaret Street and re-purposed to create a boutique new lane way in the city centre connecting Margaret Street to Annand Street.
PROJECT DETAILS
Following the knockdown of an old building in the main streets of Toowoomba in early 2020, the area was reconstructed into a boutique new lane way connecting Margaret and Annand Streets in the city centre. The design by Struxi Design called for a mix of Prague, Zurich and Riverina Euro® Stone pavers. With works starting in May of 2020, Taddio Building Group laid approximately 250m2 of the Euro® Stone pavers while dealing with social distancing restrictions, clearing the demolished building and limited access given the location in Toowoomba’s city centre. In the end the entire $1.6 Million project was completed by local contractors and suppliers and opened on the 4th December 2020. The project has received such a positive response it has been entered into the Regional 2021 Building Design Awards.
