Pools and entertaining areas around pool areas are a great place to escape the heat and with Australia’s great climate, more and more homeowners are choosing to build a pool. Pools are a great investment for the lifestyle of your family and friends and while pools do come with some running costs, they can also add real financial value to your home.
When considering paving for around pool areas, there are two main choices to make. Firstly, you need to choose a pool coping paver. Pavers for the coping row around your pool can also be referred to as copers, coping tiles, coping stones, bullnose pavers or pencil / square edge coping – while these products can look different, they all fulfil the same purpose of sitting atop of your pool slabs bond beam and creating an attractive finish to your pool surround. Most coping pavers are smooth or rounded so that they are comfortable to sit on from the water’s ledge, and also safe for when getting in and out of the pool. The other paving choice is pavers for the area surrounding the pool (not just the coper). For great results, we recommend matching your coping paver to the paving used in the surrounding area. Often, these areas are used just as much as the pool itself for entertaining, sunbaking and relaxation.
There are many different choices for paving around pools including concrete pavers, natural stone pavers (sandstone, travertine and granite pavers), porcelain pavers can also be used around pools as well as ceramic tiles. One of the benefits of Adbri’s Euro® range of concrete pavers is that they are pool safe, slip-resistant and they are Australian made meaning unlike many other pool paving choices, you know exactly where the products are made, to which Australian Standards and who to call for service.
